Unified Communication on the next level

In times of advancing digitalization, communication technology is also subject to constant change. The end of classic ISDN systems ushered in the age of VoIP technology. But what does this change actually mean for you or your company and what solutions, possibilities and advantages are there? IPD NOW clarifies!

PBX, ISDN, VoIP – what?

PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange and is one of many terms for a telephone system. A PBX or telephone system connects several terminals – i.e. telephones, fax machines, answering machines – to each other (internally) and to one or more lines of the public telephone network (externally). A telephone system offers numerous functional fea-tures, such as call forwarding, voice recordings, busy lamp fields (BLFs) and waiting loops. In addition, the telephone system can be optionally extended with further functionalities such as interactive voice menus (IVR).

The PBX communicates with the public telephone network via analog lines (POTS), Mo-bilfunk, gateways or still ISDN. The digital communication standard ISDN can transmit voice and data over different connections, but will be completely switched off in the near future. Internally, the PBX switches wired or wirelessly with end devices.

In contrast, modern VoIP-based PBXs use the Session Initiation Protocol, also known as SIP. They are software-based, which means they run on commercially available servers. Since the individual end devices no longer have to be physically connected to each other, completely new possibilities open up for companies.

Ideal solution by conviction

IPD NOW relies on the innovaphone PBX which can be installed on one or more VoIP gateways or in a virtualized environment (VMware and Hyper-V). It is designed as a standalone IP PBX which develops its full performance in combination with the unified communications functionalities of the myApps web client with its uniform, clear user interface.

myApps can be operated on all end devices and offers a uniform interface for telephony, chat, fax, video conferencing, desktop sharing, voicemail and much more.

High-performance combination

You are now aware of what myApps is and the essential benefits it brings. But what really concrete advantages does VoIP and also a unified communication platform such as innovaphone myApps provide for you in the VoIP environment?

Cost-effective & first-class

VoIP reduces your telephone costs – especially for international calls. As the innovaphone VoIP gateways support many provider connection types and additional applications such as reporting or fax can be operated on the VoIP gateways if required, you save administration effort and costs.

However, lower costs do not mean less quality – on the contrary! In contrast to ISDN connections, the voice standard of HD Voice significantly improves voice quality during telephone calls, provided that all participants have an IP-capable terminal device.

Simple & mobile

myApps is perfectly adapted to the innovaphone PBX with a user friendly, intuitive usability as well as rollout mechanisms for the standard software client and the telephone end device software.

With the end devices and clients, everything is possible in connection with innovaphone’s All IP gateway, whether in the office, from the home office or on the road. All you need is broadband access.

Flexible & scalable

Is your company growing? No problem at all! Additional employees, phone numbers or extensions can be added or removed in no time at all. Furthermore, additional functions and special solutions can be activated through additional licenses or by upgrading the existing license. Thanks to our flexible contract models, you only ever purchase the range of functions that you actually need.

You can even individually expand your myApps client with additional functions via the App Store, such as the seamless integration of CRM systems and Microsoft 365 applications.

Future-oriented & secure

VoIP is a fundamental part of unified communications solutions and allows you to connect all your employees via the most modern communication channels. And all other channels to come in the future.

For your best possible protection, the innovaphone PBX has a variety of functions and security mechanisms against the systematic spying out of data and to defend against hacker attacks.

Single source for everything

With the PBX system from the manufacturer innovaphone, IPD NOW offers you a communications platform from the cloud, with a modern soft client as standard, but we can also operate the system in a hybrid environment – partly from the cloud and partly on premises. If you prefer a conventional desk phone, we can of course also offer you a wide selection of modern end devices.

With IPD NOW, you get “everything as a service”, so to speak: software as a service, platform as a service, infrastructure as a service or database as a service. The big advantage of this is that you no longer have to buy various IT hardware and services yourself, but simply use them as cloud computing software – in other words, rent them. Instead of expensive investments, there are only the variable usage costs.
